Another date

You're standing there.

I see you and my heart is a flutter of heartbeats, each beat matching my breathing, beat for breath...

I can feel it thumping, the thunder inside my chest... the constant feeling of my heart hitting my ribs.

I rest my head on your shoulder as we sit in your car, watching the glorious colours spread over the ground. I hear your heartbeat, beating strong inside you, the sound reaching my own heart.

I gaze up at you, looking into your soulful eyes. The feelings inside me rise, about to burst like a bubble that's been through too much. You smile again and the emotion starts to spill. My heart is erratic, beating fast as you lean in, your eyes slowly closing- your eyelashes fluttering close. I close mine.

Our lips touch.

It's like magic. It's like the world is finally right again. It's like my heart is finally whole again.
